Vodafone Launches 4G Services In Gurgaon; To Launch Mumbai And Bengaluru Shortly

Vodafone-Launches-4G-Services-In-GurgaonVodafone India today announced the roll out of 4G services in prominent business and residential corridors of Gurgaon and plans to launch 4G in Mumbai and Bengaluru shortly.

The roll-out will be completed across all parts of Delhi & NCR in a phased manner. The launch in Delhi and NCR follows the successful launch of Vodafone’s 4G services in Kerala, Karnataka and Kolkata.

Built on the efficient 1800 MHz band, this state-of-the-art network will enable Vodafone 4G customers to access internet via mobile with speeds across a range of smart devices including Mobile Wi-Fi. Vodafone 4G services can be readily accessed from 4G enabled handsets offered by leading smartphone manufacturers (Apple, Samsung, Micromax, Microsoft, Lava, Xolo among others) available across the country.

Vodafone’s 4G service in Delhi and NCR is built on a strong fibre backhaul, and is supported by its superfast 3G services. With this launch, Vodafone is now uniquely positioned to offer in Delhi and NCR, 2G/3G/4G services on its own state of the art, convergent radio technology.

Leveraging its global network and experience, Vodafone is also the first and only telecom service provider to currently offer international roaming on 4G to its India customers visiting UK, Romania, Spain and Netherlands.

Announcing the launch of Vodafone’s 4G service in Delhi and NCR, Naveen Chopra, chief operating officer, Vodafone India said, “We are delighted to launch our high-speed 4G services in Delhi and NCR for our customers to experience the most advanced wireless broadband experience available across the globe today.”

Vodafone customers can enjoy 3 months access to free TV, movies & music, 100+ Live TV channels on Vodafone Play as part of Vodafone 4G subscription. One can also get HOOQ, premium video-on-demand service with over 35,000 hours of Hollywood blockbusters and popular local programs and Hungama Play, leading entertainment destination with over 6,000 movie titles. One can also get access 1.2 million songs using Vodafone Music.

One can also access 4G using 4G Mobile Wi-Fi that supports connectivity for up to 10 devices. Vodafone 4G packs ranging from a trial pack of 35 MB at Rs 11 to a bonanza pack of 20 GB at Rs 2,499.

Speaking on the 4G proposition for Delhi and NCR, Apoorva Mehrotra, business head–Delhi and NCR Circle, Vodafone India, “Beginning with key business and residential corridors in NCR across Gurgaon, which today constitute more than 10 percent of our data users, we will soon expand our 4G services across the length and breadth of Delhi in a phased manner. Delhi and NCR is a focus and significant growth market for Vodafone India. To cater to the growing volumes of customer usage increasing need for speed, the company invested over Rs 800 crores in FY 16 to expand, modernize and building a more technology and energy efficient network.

Vodafone will increase the intensity of its 4G rollout to cover important metros – Mumbai and Bengaluru shortly. Testing of 4G services in these locations has already commenced successfully and Vodafone India has partnered with leading global technology service providers for the network roll-out. Vodafone has already started the roll-out of 4G-Ready SIMs in these markets inviting customers for a free upgrade before the commercial launch. With this, Vodafone 4G services will be present in 5 circles of Kerala, Karnataka, Mumbai, Delhi & NCR and Kolkata, which today contribute to 30% of industry revenues and close to 50% of Vodafone India data revenues.
