Vodafone’s Secure Recharge Service For Women Launched In Haryana


Vodafone hass launched its secure mobile recharge service facility in Haryana. This service enables a customer to recharge his/her prepaid Vodafone mobile numbers without disclosing the number to the recharge executives at retail outlets. This service primarily aims at women folks who do not wish to share their mobile numbers with recharge outlets.

The service is called Vodafone Sakhi -meaning friend – has been launched in other parts of the country by the operator and now that has been extended to Haryana.

With Vodafone Sakhi recharge the customer has to send an SMS to a toll free number and in return he gets a 10 digit OTP (one time password). The customer needs to share this OTP with the executives at the recharge outlet and ask for recharge of desired denomination. A confirmation message will be received on the customer’s mobile once the recharge is successful.

In Haryana the service was launched by Mohit Narru – Business Head, Vodafone Haryana Circle and Smt. Kavita Jain, Minister Urban and Local Bodies and Department of Women and Child Development.

To avail this service which is offered free of cost, a customer needs to send the SMS ‘Private’ to toll free number ‘12604’.

In February this year Vodafone had launched this service in Uttar Pradesh. ‘Vodafone Sakhi’ is currently available in select areas of Dehradun, Saharanpur &Firozabad in UP (W) and Uttarakhand. The offer has been affordably priced, starting from Rs 52 only, to cater to women from all socio-economic backgrounds, said the company in a statement.
