Vodafone India Revenue Up by 15%

vodafone-india-tax-caseVodafone India has posted a revenue growth of 15% in the third quarter ended December 31. It has clocked total sales of 1.1 billion pound in the quarter compared to 937 million pound in the corresponding period in the 2014 fiscal.

Overall the Vodafone Group has grown by 13.5 %.

Like Airtel, Vodafone has also shown significant rise in its data business. The company’s data revenue grew by 70% whereas data consumers have grown by 30% during the quarter. At the end of the December quarter the UK telecom giant’s Indian arm has 59 million mobile data users of which around 17% are 3G users.

At the end of the reported quarter, Vodafone India’s total mobile subscriber base was  178.7 million with additions of 4.8 million new customers in the same period. During this period the company had added 11,000 2G sites and 15,000 3G sites.

Vodafone India also said that it has 3,37,000 active M-Pesa customers who make 75,000 transactions per day.
