The minister also launched 480 3G and 400 2G telecom towers in the state in order to improve mobile connectivity in the state. The BharatNet project, besides connectivity all villages, also aims at putting up one WiFi hotspot in each village and five in each block. The government also wants to set up 1 million WiFi hotspots by December 2019.

Besides the telecom projects, Sinha also laid the foundation stone for a new escalator at Bhubaneswar railway station and dedicated a foot-over-bridge (FoB) and an escalator at Berhampur railway station.
