Telecom Italia chairman, Franco Bernabe resigns

The chairman of Telecom Italia Franco Bernabe has resigned from his office.

Bernabe was an executive, not independent, director and was the chairman of the Executive Committee.

The board expressed its gratitude to Franco Bernabe for the great commitment and substantial managerial contribution offered over the years spent guiding the company.

The board of directors of Telecom Italia, chaired by its deputy chairman, Aldo Minucci has started the process to designate the new chairman of the company. In the meantime, as set out in the Company’s Succession Plan, the powers and organizational responsibilities previously assigned to Bernabe have been temporarily attributed to the managing director and chief executive officer, Marco Patuano.

The deputy chairman is acting as chairman of the board and legal representative of Telecom Italia, in a temporary capacity.
