Rishi Malhotra is the new CEO of Saavn

As the company enters new growth phase, Saavn has appointed Rishi Malhotra as the new CEO.

The founding CEO Vinodh Bhat becomes president and chief strategy officer and will focus on strategy, partnerships, advertising sales and talent acquisition.

“We have built Saavn together for almost half a decade, and we’ve always made the best decisions for the company. As we shift into a more product-focused phase of our growth, Vin and I made some strategic management changes. I’m humbled and honored to take on the CEO position. We have a talented team around the globe, and we’re fiercely focused on building a great music streaming business for this very exciting market,” said Malhotra.

“It’s been an incredibly rewarding experience to initially help start and serve as the founding CEO of such an innovative and impactful company. From the beginning, our talented and hardworking team has been driven to do what is best for our users, and we have always been aligned around building a world-class organization,” said Vinodh Bhat.

“As we enter the next phase of consumer-facing growth, I am excited about Rishi’s unique combination of strong leadership, hands-on management, and product focus in the CEO role. Saavn, the world’s leader in digital streaming for Indian music has also announced the addition of Warner Music and EMI to its roster of label partnerships. Saavn is adding 800,000 English-language tracks from the two labels, increasing its catalog from 1.1 million songs to nearly 2 million.
