Reliance Jio awards MNP order to Syniverse

Reliance Jio Infocomm has awarded MNP (mobile number portability) order to Syniverse.

Syniverse, a mobile number portability solution provider is well designed to help operators optimize their existing networks to 3G, 4G and beyond. The solution will help Reliance Jio to get subscribers from 3G operators aggressively. The subscribers can retain their existing 3G numbers and switch to 4G services of Reliance Jio Infocomm.

Commenting about the deal, Syniverse spokesperson said, “Syniverse does not comment publicly on the value of customer contract signings.”

On his India visit in 2011, Jeff Gordon, president and CEO Syniverse said, “The Indian market is fiercely competitive, and we are deeply committed to making mobile work for operators across the region, regardless of size, technology or network roadmap.”

Syniverse has implemented mobile number portability in Zone 1 across 11 circles, including Delhi, Mumbai, Maharashtra and Gujarat and successfully launched MNP in January 2011.

Reliance Jio has got the pan India license to launch BWA services, and it is expected that the company would launch the services by end of this year.
