Sameer Garde Replaces Dinesh Malkani As Cisco India Head

Cisco India has appointed Sameer Garde as country head in the place of Dinesh Malkani who quit the post early this month. However, Malkani, who was President India and SAARC will remain with Cisco as a strategic advisor till end of September.

The new head, Sameer Garde, will take office from 1 August or today.

Before joining Cisco, Garde had been serving at multiple firms as strategic advisor or consultant. These firms include CtrlS Data Centers, IQLECT, Bonorganik and Shotang India.

His last full time job was with Philips where he served as President for South Asia region. He served Philips for one and half years.

Before joining Philips he had served Samsung as country head and senior vice president for its enterprise business division.

Dell is the company where he served maximum of his professional career, more than 9 years, and he quit Dell as its President and MD in 2013.

In Cisco, he is set for a tough time ahead. The company, who is one of the largest firms in its domain, has been seeing stiff competition from its Chinese counterparts as well as European firms. Besides, many senior level people have also quit the company in recent past.
