Monaco Telecom launches 4G LTE services

Monaco Telecom, part of Cable & Wireless Communications has launched the country’s first Long Term Evolution (LTE) mobile data services.

LTE is a ‘fourth generation’ (4G) mobile service which will enable the company’s customers to access mobile data at far higher download speeds than previously available. With the launch of 4G LTE, consumers can now browse internet, download files and streaming videos at higher speeds.

The company’s 4G LTE network covers 98 percent of the Principality. 4G installation for Monaco Telecom has been undertaken by Huawei as part of a broader upgrade of the operator’s mobile infrastructure which has resulted in significant improvements to all mobile data users.

Monaco Telecom is Monaco’s only full service telecoms operator and is strongly committed to providing residents of the Principality with the latest services and high quality customer service. The company is owned by Cable & Wireless Communications (49 percent), Government of Monaco (45 percent) and Compagnie Monegasque de Banque (6 percent).

The company is a leading provider of mobile services and sole provider of fixed line, broadband and pay TV in Monaco.
