lava-iris-fuel-60After screen sizes and number of cores in a processor, it appears as if the next battle in smartphones is over the battery power. Lava today launched its next smartphone from the Iris series with a battery power of 4000 mAh. The new phone Iris Fuel 60 claims of 32 hours of power back up on 2G use or talk time. Lava also claims that the Lithium Polymer battery can be fully recharged in 3 hours 15 minutes.

Specifications wise the Lava Iris Fuel 60 uses a 1.3 GHz Quad Core Cortex A7 processor and is fitted with 1GB RAM and 8 GB ROM or internal storage.  The android device runs on Kitkat 4.4 operating system, which the company says, will be upgraded soon with the latest version of android -Lollypop. However, it will be done over the air (OTA).

The company has provided a 10 megapixel rear camera with flash and a 2 megapixel front camera. The camera is also capable of capturing HD video.

Once again, like its predecessor Iris Fuel 50, this new smartphone also uses  “solder-less” manufacturing technology where each component is connected to PCBA via connectors, unlike conventional smartphones where manual soldering is used.  Using ‘solder-less’ technology, the company claims, makes it easier for service engineers to rectify in case of any fault.
