“Today, Reliance Digital is introducing a lineup of super-affordable 4G LTE smartphones under our LYF brand starting Rs 2,999,” RIL Chairman Mukesh Ambani said while announcing the company’s plans during RIL’s 42nd AGM held in Mumbai this morning.

Calling devices as the second pillar of Jio’s digital life, Ambani said that the time is near when nearly every smartphone sold in India will support 4G LTE.

“As a result of the proactive work done by Jio and Reliance Digital teams with all the leading manufacturers, more than 70% of all smartphones sold in the country are 4G LTE smartphones,” he added.

“All those users who want to hold on to their 2G/3G smartphones or WiFi capable feature phones, we are introducing our 4G LTE personal router, Jio-Fi, for Rs 1,999,” Ambani added.

Means, 2G/3G smartphone users can buy a Jio-Fi router and they can use Jio 4G services connecting their phone to the router.
