Jio Launches 4G Feature Phone JioPhone For Free


History was created today when India’s largest and richest company Reliance Industries announced its 4G feature phone in the country. The 4G feature phone, named JioPhone, is LTE ready and will be available for FREE.

The JioPhone, as claimed by the company, is the most intelligent feature phone to be launched in the country.

We had reported earlier that JioPhone will be available for Rs 1500.

The JioPhone will come with a 2.4 inch screen with QVGA display and have alphanumeric keypad. The phone is data enabled and Jio data will come integrated with the phone. The phone comes with voice command control feature and one can talk to the phone to do the wished tasks like making a call or run an app or search for something.

The phone will be available free but the company will ask for a security deposit of Rs 1500 which will be refunded after 3 years. The company said this security amount is taken so as to avoid the misuse of a free product.

The data package for this phone is priced at Rs 153 for unlimited data usage. The voice calls will be free for ever, just like the plan for smartphone users. The company also launched two sachet packets, aiming for the category of people who would find Rs 153 un-affordable every month. These packs are of value Rs 24 and Rs 54 which will offer all the solutions for 2 days and 1 week respectively.

One more intelligent feature of the JioPhone is this feature phone can be used to watch movies or TV programs by connecting it to any TV. This can be done by using a Jio TV-Cable which will cost Rs 309,a nd the JioPhone can be linked to any TV, smart or not, or your CRT TV so that the JioPhone users can stream content from their phone to their TVs.

The JioPhone will be available for trial from 15 August, 2017 and pre-booking of the phone will start from 24 August. The commercial available will start from September.
