Intex’s mobile revenue reaches Rs 1,300 crore

Intex Technologies, one of the fastest growing mobile phones, IT accessories and consumer durables companies, today announced that its mobile division has clocked revenues of Rs 1,300 crore in Fy 2013-14.

Intex has clocked a phenomenal growth rate of 100 percent in its overall turnover with an annual revenue base of more than Rs 2,000 crore in FY 13-14, as compared to Rs 1,000 crore in FY 2012-13.

The mobile vertical alone has grown by more than 300 percent, accounting for 65 percent of the company’s overall annual turnover in FY 2013-14. The mobile division has fortified its presence further in India’s western and northern regions, which have respectively contributed 40 percent and 30 percent toward the growth of this vertical. Of all products within the mobile division, smartphones have accounted for a major portion of revenues for the vertical.

Commenting on the company’s performance, Narendra Bansal, chairman and managing director, Intex Technologies said, “Our 100 percent growth story in FY 2013-14 is a clear reflection of the success of our product innovation and revamped brand imagery. With our mobile division having contributed significantly to our overall revenues, this vertical is being considered as a future growth driver.”

FY 2014-15 looks promising because of a growth in the demand for smartphones and Led TVs. Our foremost focus this year, will be on innovation. We will endeavour to delight our customers with more novel products at attractive price points,” added Bansal.

FY 2013-14 has witnessed myriad innovations and branding activities from Intex. The company roped in Bollywood doyen Farhan Akhtar as the brand ambassador for its mobile products, to strengthen audience connect and position the company as a groovy, youth-centric brand.

Intex has revolutionized its product portfolio with the introduction of India’s first “True Octa-core” smartphone and the Full HD Aqua i7. Another unique offering that Intex has launched this year is the Matrabhasha” app, which is the country’s first multilingual application.

Intex thrives on its ability to constantly innovate and challenge market dynamics. In the face of increasing consumer demand in India and the company’s strong emphasis on innovation, the company has a suite of novel marketing plans in its roster, and aims to focus more actively on after-sales service for its customers.

In FY14-15, Intex is plannign to invest Rs 100 crore in its marketing operations to take its product portfolio to bigger heights.
