Q: What is Sterlite Technologies plan for Digital India?
In terms of core fiber, we have the capacity and capability to supply to the local industry. We are in talks with the government for overall implementation and execution of Digital India infrastructure which is created by BBNL (Bharat Broadband Network Limited).

In NFS (Network for spectrum) project, we are supplier of fiber and we are also doing physical integration in Jammu & Kashmir for 10,000 Km. In Digital India project, we plan to create the entire digital infrastructure by providing end to end equipment through system integration capability that we possess.

Q: What role Sterlite Technologies plans to play in NOFN?
Initially, NOFN’s focus is on connecting 50,000 gram panchayats and later the focus is on connecting 200,000 gram panchayats. We are open for whichever role we need to play to enable government to connect remaining 200,000 gram panchayats.

We will do whatever is suggested by the government for Digital India infrastructure as we are open to all kinds of business models. For creating Digital India infrastructure, the country can be divided into different zones to be executed by a turnkey provider along with service level delivery KPIs.

Q: What’s Sterlite Technologies plan on FTTH?
We continue to focus on FTTH as we have connected 150,000 homes. We will continue to focus on FTTH as a neutral host in 6 cities and we will continue to grow based on how our customers want to grow.

Q: Are you also doing turnkey for power division?
We are laying end to end power cable across the country be it Assam to Gujarat and Rajasthan to Jammu & Kashmir. We lay large cross capacity and high voltage power cable in the county as we have the capability, design and project management skills to execute such large projects.
