MWC 2019 : MYCOM OSI To Demo How To Monetize 5G Services

MYCOM OSI, a London based service assurance provider to telecom operators,  will demonstrate the ability to allow mobile operators to assure new network slices in under five minutes, helping to transform 5G experiences and drive revenues.

Network slicing is the route for 5G monetisation and profitability for operators, enabling them to offer – and charge for – differentiated QoS according to the specific requirements of the application or service.  Use cases for network slicing range from autonomous vehicles (V2X communications) which require ultra-low latency, to streaming media services such as VR or 4K video which require ultra-fast throughput. Network slicing is fundamental to operators’ ability to address and monetise these markedly different 5G service requirements.

However, with 72% of 5G revenue growth dependent on the transformation of operational and business support systems (OSS/BSS), operators cannot rely on legacy processes. By moving to a cloud-based model where new 5G network slices are dynamically provisioned and assured in minutes rather than weeks, operators can digitally transform themselves such that they can monetise their 5G investments.

At MWC Barcelona 2019 MYCOM OSI will reveal how its intelligent Assurance Cloud™ transforms digital operations to automate and monetize 5G experiences, services and network management.  It will demonstrate how new 5G services, each requiring its own network slice, can be launched by an operator in under five minutes.  Examples of  dynamic 5G services will include:

  • Immersive on-demand 4K video streaming including real time 360 degree VR/AR for premium subscribers
  • First responder network in case of a major emergency or incident
  • Dynamic network planning, optimization and operation of a moving network using drones, edge computing, network slices, closed loop automation and Artificial Intelligence to subscriber and network behaviour
  • Dynamic network slice management and closed loop assurance to guarantee quality of slice-based services, including on demand 4K video to individual subscribers, IoT-generated data, and emergency services
