Hike To Launch Its Web Version Soon

hike-messengerHike Messenger, the Indian counterpart of popular messaging service WhatsApp, is perhaps bringing out its web version soon. Though not an official announcement but it was made public by no other than Hike’s CEO Kavin Mittal in his Twitter account. However, its perhaps at its bet version now and some internal sources said the last minute testing is going on. The sources also hinted that the web version of Hike Messenger could be launched in next few weeks.

WhatsApp launched its web version in January this month which allows users to use the messaging service from their PC or laptop, and the app is no more restricted to mobile phones only.

Hike Messenger, founded by Kavin Mittal, son of Bharti Enterprises Sunil Bharti Mittal, was launched in end of 2012 and it acquired 5 million users within just 4 months. By August 2014, from  the publicly available information, it had more than 35 million customers. Industry believes it must have acquired more than 60 million customers by now. During this period the company also raised around $100 million investment from various investors. In January this year Hike also acquired Zip Phone, a free voice-calling service provider.
