Google buys Bitspin, an alarm clock app provider

Swiss mobile app developer, Bitspin has been bought by Google.

Bitspin released a statement, “We’re thrilled to announce that Bitspin is joining Google, where we’ll continue to do what we love: building great products that are delightful to use. For new and existing users, Timely will continue to work as it always has. Thanks to everyone who has downloaded our app and provided feedback along the way; we truly appreciate all your support.”

Bitspin has a small team of developers who previously studied computer science at ETH Zurich. While studying the team gained experience in entrepreneurship and product design by releasing several products and consulting for large Swiss companies. After University the team formed the decision to become an independent developer studio and do what we love; creating great apps and products.

Based in Zurich, Bitspin mission is to create new apps and services with a focus on user experience and design. The company develops multiple services, but is best known for an alarm clock app for Android devices that has proven to be very popular for its functionality and aesthetic design.

Our extensive knowledge of the web and mobile platforms allows us to combine simplicity with design, creating experiences so delightful they seem like magic.
