Vodafone Idea Q2 Results : Financial And Other Details

Vodafone Idea, the company that was born out of the merger between Vodafone India and Idea Cellular, has announced its financial results for Q2 ended September 30, 2018. This is the first quarterly result the new company announced post the closure of the merger that happened on 31 August 2018.

During this quarter the company posted a loss of Rs 4950.5 crore. The company said a comparative analysis can not be done with the previous quarter as both the companies had reported their financial details at their individual level.

In terms of revenue, Vodafone Idea netted Rs 7664 crore in Q2 with operational expense or Opex outgo remained at Rs 7202 crore resulting in an EBITDA of Rs 461 crore. The EBITDA margin for the quarter was 6%.

Notwithstanding the loss, the company said that it is planning to infuse Rs 25,000 crore in the firm and are in the process of raising the money. Of these Vodafone Group would invest Rs 11000 crore and Aditya Birla Group would invest Rs 7250 crore.

“The Board remains optimistic about the long-term outlook for the market and the future for the Business, and recognises that further equity funding is required in order to ensure that the Company has sufficient balance sheet flexibility to successfully execute its strategy,” the company said in a statement.

At the end of Q2, the company has a total debt of Rs 112500 crore.
