Congress takes social media to next level

Congress party of India is going swadeshi and has join hands with, India’s first social media portal based on photograph sharing.

Congress party of India has started a volunteer driven initiative for the supporters of Indian National Congress and has joined hands with, launched by Aman Sahani, a 18 year Economics Student from Delhi University for its Independence Day campaign.

For this campaign, Congress has not opted for international social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter but has chosen India based social media portal SLOPHO for engaging India’s youth. All this will lead to promotion of Indian social media platforms by other political parties for capturing youths attention for the upcoming general election to be held in early 2014.

The Congress has launched a campaign on the theme “What did you do this Independence Day to salute your Country”. The participants need to share picture and top 3 entries will get a copy of “The Discovery of India” (authored by Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru) and signed by his great grandson, Rahul Gandhi, who is also vice president of the Indian National Congress.

The beauty about SLOPHO is that every user has complete control to choose his/her group members and share photographs as appropriate to his/her groups. One sub group can’t see other sub group’s photographs which are posted by the person or group members and it is the most secure place as there is no tagging or sharing of photo. In all other social media it was difficult to segregate personal and official photos but SLOPHO allows you to use photograph with great ease.

SLOPHO’s existing customers also includes Airtel Nigeria, University Express and Silver Touch.
