AT&T’s 4G LTE covers 270 mn people

AT&T’s 4G LTE now covers more than 270 million people whereby customers can stream, download, upload and game faster than even before.

AT&T today continues the rollout of its nation’s most reliable 4G LTE network with the launch of 26 new markets. Based on Nielsen data, AT&T has the highest success rate for delivering mobile content across nationwide 4G LTE networks.

ASUS’ PadFone X is planned to be exclusively available for AT&T. PadFoneX is a 5-inch full HD smartphone that activates a 9-inch full HD tablet when the phone is docked. It runs Android KitKat 4.4 and features a thin and light design with a brushed metal frame, a soft-touch back cover and dual front speakers that deliver captivating audio.

AT&T will offer its first smartphone with a curved screen, LG G Flex, in the first quarter of 2014, the company said today. The LG G Flex shape introduces new visual and ergonomic benefits that enhance the smartphone experience. The large curved 6-inch true HD P-OLED display provides an immersive video experience with reduced glare and the unique shape is comfortable in the palm of the hand or against the contour of your face.

“AT&T continues to stay ahead of the curve in growing its device portfolio and giving customers the most advanced smartphone technology,” said Jeff Bradley, senior vice president – Devices, AT&T.

“We’re excited to add LG’s futuristic G Flex on the nation’s fastest and most reliable 4G LTE network. Its curved form factor and enhanced audio and visual experience is a great addition to our strong line-up of Android devices,” added Bradley.

AT&T’s 4G LTE deployment is part of Project Velocity IP (VIP), a three-year investment plan, announced in fall of 2012, to expand and enhance its IP broadband networks. Through this investment, AT&T is supporting its customers’ growing desire for high-speed Internet access and new mobile, app and cloud-based services.

From 2007 to 2012, AT&T invested more than $116 billion into its wireless and wireline networks across the country. Since 2007, AT&T has invested more capital into the US economy than any other public company. In a September 2013 report, the Progressive Policy Institute ranked AT&T No 1 on its list of US “Investment Heroes.”
