Amdocs Acquires Comverse’s BSS Unit For $272 Mn

amdocs-comverse-acquisition-Tele2-selects-AmdocsAmdocs on Thursday announced to acquire the business support system (BSS) unit of Comverse, a big name in the telecom OSS/BSS space, for $272 million. The transaction will be done in all cash format and is expected to be completed by September 2015.

Post acquisition it will continue to offer support to Comverse’s existing customers worldwide, the company said in a statement.

“As a result of this acquisition Amdocs, with its more than 30-year industry experience, will be able to bring additional value and innovation to Comverse’s customers,” said its president and CEO Eli Gelman.
With this acquisition Amdocs is grabbing a majority stake in the BSS division of the publicly traded Comverse which will now focus singularly on its digital business, a statement said.
“Amdocs is a leader in customer experience solutions for the communications industry. With Amdocs’ broad range of products and services, this agreement will only serve to benefit existing Comverse BSS customers,” said Philippe Tartavull, president and CEO of Comverse.
