LG Uplus bags “Most Significant Development Commercial LTE Network” award

LG Uplus, the leading South Korean leading mobile operator, were presented with the award for “Most Significant Development Commercial LTE Network” at LTE World Summit.

LG Uplus completed nation-wide coverage in record time, significantly increasing their market share and LTE subscriber base. The award acknowledges the rapid commercial deployment, innovative advances and rich service success of LG Uplus.

LG Uplus successfully established 100 percent LTE nationwide network coverage in just nine months, and in August 2012, then commercialized the world’s first VoLTE to provide vivid quality voice services to its customers.

Today, LG Uplus has over 7.5 million subscribers, of which 3.9 million now use the operator’s pioneering VoLTE service. LG Uplus is also the first operator to launch a LTE-A commercial network in Korea. With Huawei, the carrier launched the world’s first DL 3CC Carrier Aggregation network with 300Mbps peak throughput and has completed UL 2CC Carrier aggregation lab testing based on both 800 MHz and 2600 MHz bands.

The high speed LG Uplus network has also experienced considerable success from the carrierd on commercial network in Korea. LG Uplus provides services such as Cloud-base C-games (Full HD gaming), U+ Navi LTE (3D Navigation), and U+ Sharelive (Video SNS).
