Wickedleak, a Mumbai based company had recently launched its latest smartphone, the Wickedleak Wammy One. In the last few years, the company made headlines by launching couple of devices like Wammy Passion X that were waterproof. Since the company’s entry to the samrtphone business in 2011, Wickedleak has come a long way in making a mark for itself.

However, the new device, the Wammy One does not excite much considering the specifications it carries.

Wammy One Design

The design of the phone will surely amaze you. The company has certainly done lots of improvisation in its design department. The 5 inch Wammy One feels sturdy, sleek and with the proportionate bezel sizing, the phone appears of the perfect size. Though its 5 inch, it does not appear too big or too small than the current trend. The company has also used premium quality plastic, both inside as well as on the back panel, which in many devices that fall under this price range, appears too plasticky. But in case of Wammy One it feels high-quality. Besides, the plastic in the Wammy One white does not attract dirt unlike many white coloured smartphones do.

Its a general tendency for the consumers to check the camera the moment they pick up a new mobile phone, and more so on smartphones. But the consumers will go for a shock if they check the camera quality of Wickedleak Wammy One. Simply saying, its poor. Pathetic could be a better term. The company claims of 8 megapixel rear camera and 5 megapixel front camera. I really doubt this. Image outputs in both the cases will disappoint you to heart, if you have already bought the device. In both the primary camera as well as front camera, the viewing angle is too small. In both the cameras, the images gives out inaccurate colors, which is a big downer.

The Wammy One comes with 1.4 GHz Mediatek processor with 1 GB RAM and 8 GB of internal storage, which by standard, can be upgraded to 32 GB by using microSD cards. Though it has 1.4 GHz octacore processor, the phone does not give rise to expected speed. The phone also withdraws from its normal speed to a great extent when multiple applications run.

On software front, the Wammy one does not have much newness except the gesture wake application.

Overall: On face value, the Wammy One appears very decent considering the price category. An octacore phone with 8 megapixel camera and 5 inch screen is surprisingly priced at Rs 7,990. There are not much compeititors for the Wickedleak phone in this price range with this tech specs. But the phone fails in multiple aspects, camera, performance and software.
