Intex Aqua Power 4 launched, Priced at Rs 5,499


Intex Technologies, an Indian handset player, has launched a new 4G-Volte smart phone Intex Aqua Power 4, priced at Rs 5,499. Smartphone is powered by 4000 mAh battery and features Android 7 OS.

Aqua Power 4 comes with a 5-inch FWVGA display. It is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor and 1 GB RAM. Device comes pre-loaded with a QR Code scanner, Xender, a file sharing app, Gaana app and Prime Video, Tap and Buy and Vistoso.

Gionee A1 Plus with dual camera and 4550mAh battery launched at Rs 26,999

Gionee has launched Gionee A1 Plus smartphone in India priced at Rs 26,999. The device is a successor of the flagship model A1 and will be available across India in retail stores.

Gionee A1 Plus brings in significant upgrade with dual camera set up at the rear- 13MP+5MP rear dual camera and 20 MP front camera. The smartphone is fuelled by a 4550mAh battery and is powered by a Helio P25 Octa-core processor with 4GB RAM, 64 GB ROM and 256 GB expandable memory. The phone also gets 6 inch full HD IPS Display.

The dual rear camera allows one to capture the details and collect the depth of field information, wide-angle shots and images with bokeh effects. The A1 Plus comes with Gionee’s facial recognition system and bokeh-selfie mode, which allows users to blur backgrounds with bokeh while still allowing their faces to stand out. The smartphone is powered by a 4550 mAh battery which as per the company claims offers uninterrupted usage for up to two days regardless of web browsing, reading or even consuming video content.

Yunique 2 Launched By YU Mobiles For Rs 5,999


Micromax’ other smartphone brand YU Mobiles today launched the second version of its earlier model -Yunique and named it Yunique 2. The phone is priced at Rs 5,999 and will be available on Flipkart from 27 July.

The Yunique 2 comes with a 5 inch screen with HD display and Corning Gorilla glass 3 protection. The phone is powered by 1.3 Ghz MediaTek quadcore processor. The phone comes with 2 GB RAM and 16 GB of internal storage space.

The Yunique 2 runs on Android Nougat and carries a 2500 mAh battery.

From the camera perspective, the phone sports an 13 megapixel primaryc amera at the rear and a 5 megapixel front camera. In terms of connectivity, the phone comes with 4G LTE, WiFi and Bluetooth.

The Yunique 2 supports 22 Indian languages and comes with pre-installed Truecaller app.

iVOOMi Launches Two New Smartphones for Rs 3499 and Rs 4499

iVOOMi, a chinese handset brand, has launched two new models of smartphones called Me 4 and Me 5. The phones will be available only on Flipkart and are priced at Rs 3,499 and Rs 4,499 respectively.

iVOOMi Me 4 and Me 5 are Dual Sim phones with 4G VoLTE support. Both the phones are Android 7.0 Nougat based. Me 4 gets 4.5 inch display with 854 x 480 pixels and Me 5 gets 5 inch HD IPS with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution with 2.5D curve glass. Colour options on the phone includes Champagne Gold, Slate Grey, Midnight Black and Carbon Black colour

iVoomi Me 4 gets 1GB RAM and 8 GB internal memory which is expandable up to 64 GB using microSD card. The device uses a quad core processor on a mediatek chipset, while the Me 5 gets 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal memory and uses the same cipset.

Me 4 gets 5 megapixel camera on both front and rear and a rear flash while the Me 5 gets 8 megapixel unit with flash at the back and a 5MP unit in the front.

Powering the units are 2000 mAH battery on Me4 and 3000 mAH unit on Me5. The price looks very attractive and is one of the cheapest smartphone in the industry. In fact Me 4 is close to Nokia 3310 in terms of pricing. However it will interesting to see how the phones perform in day to day usage.

Xiaomi’s Largest Phone Mi Max 2 With 5300 mAh Battery Launched For Rs 16,999


Xiaomi has brought back its large format smartphones , the Max series, with the launch of Mi Max 2 in India. The 6.44 inch Xiaomi Mi Max 2 is priced at Rs 19,999. The earlier Max series phone, Mi Max was launched at Rs 14,999.

Let’s see whats there in the new phone that demands a Rs 2000 raise in its price.

The Xioami Mi Max 2 comes with 6.44-inch screen with full HD display which is protected by a 2.5D curved glass with Corning Gorilla Glass 3.  The phone is powered by 2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa core processor couple with 4GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage space. The storage capacity can further be enhanced upto 128 GB using microSD cards.

The Mi Max 2 comes with a huge 5300mAh two-day battery, perhaps the largest available in the market. The company claims the battery provides up to 18 hours of video playback, 57 hours of talktime, or over 31 days on standby. Despite the large capacity, Mi Max 2 is able to charge 68 percent in one hour as it supports Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 with parallel charging, which allows fast charging while controlling temperature increase. The battery also comes with reverse charging capability, means you can use this phone to charge your other phones or devices.

In terms of camera, the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 features a 12MP Sony IMX386 1.25-micron large-pixel camera sensor at the back and a 5MP front camera.

The device comes in a metal unibody frame and sports a rear finger print sensor. The phone comes only in black color.

The Mi Max 2 runs on Android Nougat along with company’s own user interface, the MIUI. Because its a pretty big phone, the company offers “One-handed mode” feature so that you can use one hand to operate the phone but the active screen gets smaller. The company claims that the MIUI will soon introduce “Split screen”, which allows two applications to run in the foreground, making full use of the large 6.44-inch display. For instance, a user can watch a video using the top half of the screen while replying to messages in the lower half.

The phone will be first available during the 3rd Mi Anniversary special sale on July 20 and 21, from 10 a.m. on and Mi Home. Following this, Mi Max 2 will be available from July 27 across all online and offline partners of Xiaomi, along with its online retail channels.

Micromax launches Canvas 1, priced at Rs 6,999


Micromax has announced the launch of entry level Smartphone, Canvas 1, priced at Rs 6,999. The new 4G Volte smartphone comes with an 8 MP camera, smart keys and runs on Android Nougat. It is also the first smartphone to come with a 100-day replacement promise on any hardware issue, while the warranty is for 1 year.

Cavans 1 gets a 5 inch, 2.5D HD in cell display. According to company, HD In-cell display of C1 decreases 1/4of the normal screen thickness and provide high rate of penetration and a bright image even in the sunlight.

The phone is powered by a MediaTek MT6737, Quad-core 1.3GHz Processor and 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM, while it also supports 32 GB of SD card.

Canvas 1 gets 8 megapixel Camera at the back with dual colour temperature flash and a 5 MP selfie camera and 85° wide angle lens. Company also claims that dual speaker box which is powered by smart audio PA that significantly improves playback quality while protecting speakers from damage at high volume levels

A new element in the phone is App Freezer that disables memory-intensive apps which restricts background processes, save memory resources, unfreeze and the apps are back

The device is equipped with OTG Support that have Mass Storage, can be connected to the Serial Communications, Keyboards/Mice, Game controllers and can easily import photos from a camera

Kodak Ektra With 21 MP Camera, Deca-core Processor Launched For Rs 19,990


Japanese imaging company Kodak on Monday launched its latest smartphone in the Indian market. Named Kodak Ektra, the phone comes with 21 megapixel fast focus rear camera and is priced at Rs 19,990. The phone will be available from tomorrow on Flipkart.

London based Bullitt Group is the official distributor of the Kodak branded smartphones and the product is already available in the US and the UK.

“Driven by the enthusiasm from customers globally, we are thrilled to bring the Kodak Ektra to photo enthusiasts in India.,” said Peter Stephens, CEO Bullitt Group, a Kodak licensee for mobile devices.

Specification wise the Kodak Ektra comes with 5.5 inch screen and is powered by MediaTek Helio X20 2.3 GHz decacore processor. The phone comes with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage capacity which can further be expanded by using microSD cards. The phone has got a 21 megapixel primary camera and 12 megapixel front camera. The phone carries a 3000 mAh battery.

The highlight of this phone is its camera solutions. The custom built camera app is controlled by an intuitive haptic touch, SLR-style Scene Selection Dial, where adjustments are made in real time via a range of settings including HDR, Landscape, Portrait, Macro, Sport, Night-time, Panorama and Bokeh, alongside a Smart Auto mode which auto-selects the best conditions for your photographs. In Manual mode, more advanced users can adjust exposure, ISO, focus, white balance and shutter speed, with the results being visible on the screen as changes are made.

The company says the phone uses ARCSOFT Night soft technology that gives high quality low light and night-time photography. Also the Kodak Ektra uses a Kodak certified lens coating enabling even more light to reach the sensor, as well as reducing ISO noise, brightening underexposed areas and stabilising blur from slow shutter speeds.

The Phone also comes preloaded with Scanseed app that gives varieties of image editing options on the go.

HMD Global, brand owner of Nokia phones, has announced refreshed Nokia 130. Phone features refreshed, designs, and feature 1.8-inch colour screens, LED torch lights and sleek, contoured designs, with each phone being available in a range of three colours.

Nokia 130 gets FM playback which Nokia 105 which has also been launched lacks. Phone offers up to 44 hours of FM radio playback time and also gets 32GB of MicroSD card storage for music, photos and videos.

The phone supports video playback with claimed 11.5 hours of video playback on a single charge. It also features Bluetooth support for a headset or speakers. There is also a VGA camera in the phone. And also allows sharing of videos, contacts and more through bluetooth.

HMD Global, which now owns to rights of Nokia for phones, has launched a new, refreshed third generation Nokia 105. The Nokia 105 Dual SIM and Single SIM variants will be available at retail stores across the country starting July 19.

The new Nokia 105 features an all new design, better battery life, and larger screen size and new keymat. The design is inspired by the Nokia phone design heritage. However it is built using new polycarbonate casing with inherent colour that minimises the visual impact of knocks and bumps.

Nokia 105 gets new island keymat features separated keys for improved usability, and gets larger 1.8-inch screen. Games like Snake Xenzia, comes preloaded. New Nokia 105 also comes preloaded with two try and buy games – Doodle Jump and Crossy Road.
