Jio Offers Fastest 4G Speed In 17 Circles, Airtel In 2


Reliance Jio, the newest telecom operator that launched its 4G services just over a year back, is now offering fastest 4G speed in 17 telecom circles out of total 23 circles. In contrast, the oldest 4G operator, Bharti Airtel tops in just 2 circles and ranks number 3 among the top 3 operators.

In the same comparison, Idea Cellular offers the highest 4G speed in 3 circles and Vodafone India tops the race in just one circle out of total 23 circles, according to TRAI data.


Except Assam, Chennai, Jammu and Kashmir, Kolkata, Punjab and Tamil Nadu Reliance Jio offers the fastest speed in all other circles whereas Airtel offers the fastest 4G speed only in Kolkata and J&K circles. Idea offers the best speed in Assam, Punjab and Tamil Nadu circles whereas Vodafone tops the speed race only in Chennai.

In terms of data speed, on a downlink stream, Jio offers the highest speed of 40.4 mbps in Mumbai whereass Airtel’s fastest speed is recorded in Kolkata at 11 mbps. Vodafone’s highest 4G speed is 14.6 mbps in Chennai and Idea Cellular’s highest speed offering is in Assam at 15.6 mbps.

In this manner Jio’s data speed is highest at 40.4 mbps and Airtel’s is the lowest with 11 mbps. Idea and Vodafone ranks number 2 and number 3 respectively.

On an overall comparison Jio, in terms of 4G speed, is placed first in 17 circles, second in 4 circles and fourth in 2 circles. Airtel is ranked first in 2 circles, second in 8 circles, third in 9 circles and fourth in 2 circles. Similarly, Vodafone is placed first in 1 circle, second in 4 circles, third in 8 circles and fourth in 4 circles. Idea Cellular is placed first in 3 circles, second in 6 circles, third in 5 circles and fourth in 6 circles.

On monthly average data speed, Jio registers 21.9 mbps whereas Vodafone offers at 8.7 mbps, Idea Cellular at 8.6 mbps and Bharti Airtel at lowest at 7.5 mbps.
