Flipkart Billion Capture+ : Day 1 Sales Number Will Blow Your Head

Flipkart yesterday claimed that its first own branded smartphone, the Billion Capture+, was sold out on the very first day of its flash sale. The claim was true and you will be surprised to know the number of units this new smartphone sold on that day.

On 15 November Flipkart opened the flash sale at 00:00 hours and in the morning of 16 November the company claimed all units of Billion Capture+ were sold out.

“The Billion Capture+, sold out on Day 1 amid an overwhelming response from customers. The “Made for India” smartphone went on sale from 00:00 hours on November 15, and was sold out on the same day,” the company said in a statement.

We asked the company to tell us the exact number of units that were put up for sale and the number of units sold out. Unfortunately, we did not got a satisfactory answer.

However, when we did our research and reached out to our sources at the seller – Flipkart, the manufacturer – Smartron, and the brand – Billion, we got our answer and the ‘sold out’ number was mind-boggling.

The total number of units that were ‘sold out’ on that day is just 923 and the total number of units that were kept for sale was 950. Not even one thousand, multiple sources informed.

However, its a known fact now, that the companies these days resort to many a marketing gimmicks to grab some eyeballs.

The Capture+ is the first smartphone from Flipkart and was launched under its own devices brand name Billion. The smartphone was designed, researched, manufactured and tested in India by Hyderabad based smartphone maker Smartron – the company that has its own smartphones like tPhone and srtPhone.

The Flipkart Billion Capture+ comes in two variants – 3GB/32GB and 4GB/64GB and are priced at Rs 10,999 and Rs 12,999. The phones come with 13 megapixel rear dual camera and 8 megapixel front camera. The 5.5 inch smartphone is VoLTE ready dual SIM 4G phone and comes with 3500 mAh battery. The Billion Capture+ is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octacore 2 GHz processor and runs on Android Nougat OS.
