In first phase Idea Money has adopted three regions namely, the city of Anand, the township and villages of Dahej and Thamna, to encourage individuals and families to go cashless.

Earlier this year, Idea Money launched its Retailer Assisted Model (RAM), a platform which enables retailers to assist customers using the Idea Money Wallet with transactions including bill payments, recharges, money transfers, airline and hotel booking, bus ticket, e-commerce etc.

Digi Dhan Lakshmi Initiative is a 60-day pilot to on-board retailers, large merchants and create an ecosystem wherein hyperlocal merchants are connected to each retailer in supporting customer acquisition. The campaign aims to replace the customer’s dependence on cash by leveraging Idea Money. Idea money works for both smartphone and feature-phone users.

For this initiative idea Money is focusing on ‘Digi Mitra’ (telco retailer), ‘E-vyapar Mitra’ (merchant) and ‘Digital Grahak’ (potential customer/ user). The Idea retailer will be the touchpoint for consumers opting to open a full KYC wallet while the merchants will drive acceptance of cashless payments thereby encouraging and growing the digital payments ecosystem. Customers need to visit their closest Idea Money outlet to learn how to make cashless transactions though idea money.

Commenting on the launch of this initiative, Sudhakar Ramasubramanian, Designate CEO, Aditya Birla Idea Payments Bank, said, “Under the aegis of Digital India, the Indian Government has strengthened its focus on developing a robust fintech ecosystem to make financial inclusion a reality. We believe that a key step to drive this change lies in providing ubiquitous solutions to customers to embrace digital money for daily transactions. Idea Money is delighted to spearhead the Digi Dhan Lakshmi initiative in Gujarat, which is providing an impetus to India’s cashless revolution.”

Speaking of Idea Cellular’s efforts in creating a cashless economy, Himanshu Kapania, Managing Director Idea Cellular, said, “The telecom industry with its cross country network and outreach is expected to play a vital role in the government’s Digital India initiative. As a leading telecom operator, backed by a vast network and a reach of nearly 200 million subscribers. We are confident that the Digi Dhan Lakshmi initiative will be successful in driving the cashless payments ecosystem in Gujarat, creating a platform that can be referred to and implemented across the rest of the country.” .
The digital wallet service is currently being offered by IMCSL (Idea M-Commerce Services Ltd.), a subsidiary of Idea Cellular. Idea Money is operational on self–assisted as well as retailer assisted modes across USSD, website and Mobile App Channels. Games2win Launches Mobile Game That Teaches How To Drive Safe

While deaths due to road accidents are in the rise attributing to various factors like drunken and rash driving, poor roads, pathetically low respect to ‘rules of the road’ and many more, there is this company – Games2win – launched a mobile game that teaches users how to drive safe.

The mobile game by Games2win is also aptly named as ‘Driving Academy of India’ and it simulates a real-life on-the-road driving like experience where users can practice their driving skills.

“There is a lack of education among young drivers about road safety and this is a problem Games2win is attempting to solve via it’s unique game “Driving Academy India,” said Alok Kejriwal – CEO and Co-Founder of Games2win, one of the world’s largest mobile gaming publishers.

In Driving Academy India, the players learn and practice car driving while clearing fifty classic road signs. Most of these road signs are never understood by drivers and Driving Academy India attempts to ‘gamify’ this important subject while keeping it fun!

Players are confronted with typical Indian signs such as Stop, No Overtaking, Railway Crossing, Pedestrian alert, etc. and obeying these signs helps players to clear game levels. As a reward, players earn coins that they can splurge on the choicest of Cars – Indian and Foreign brands included.

“We timed this game to coincide with the 2016 Motor Vehicles Amendment Bill that has been recently cleared by the Cabinet and promises to impose harsh penalties on rash driving,” he added.

India is the road death capital of the world. Over 400 people die everyday on India roads and almost all these deaths happen due to driver negligence. According to National Crime Records Bureau, 148,000 people died in 2015 due to road accidents in India, and this has grown by 9% over 2011 – in mere fours years.

“Our approach is to educate and make young people safe drivers via mobile gaming even before they get behind the wheels of a real car. India is the largest market for Mobile Games and with 70% of the Indian Population under the age of 25, we believe this game is perfect for immediate launch,” added Kejriwal.

While the country fares poorly in terms of road infrastructure, India also lacks in providing proper motor driving training to its citizens. While the mobile game by Games2win – Driving Academy of India – can not replace a real driving academy, its expected, it will build some sense of driving sense among its users.

Starting April all future phones of Gionee will have the GStore pre-installed and the older phones can download this app from company’s own website or from Google Play store.

The company is also building a developer ecosystem wherein the developers can develop apps for Gionee GStore besides doing the same for Google Play, and the source also said that, these developers will be developing apps exclusively for GStore.

The Chinese phone maker recently launched a new smartphone – Gionee A1, and this will be the first smartphone to have the new GStore. The source said the app store will be pushed to A1 OTA when the app is launched.

“From villages to cities, from corner vegetable stalls to milk booths, small shops to large retailers, everyone embraced the new way to pay by Paytm,” he adds.

With the grant of the final approval from the RBI, Sharma is just steps away from the formal launch.

“This is our chance to build something that every Indian can be proud of. No other role or responsibility means as much to me as the privilege of building Paytm Payments Bank, and I intend to take a full-time executive role in the Bank,” he writes further in his blog.
