Aircel Offers Attractive Tariff During Ramzaan

Aircel_Logo

Aircel-Offers-Attractive-Tariff-During-RamzaanAircel celebrates the month of Ramzaan with customers, offering highly discounted tariff for voice calling at night and talk time benefits on its special ‘Ramzaan Pack’.

In Delhi, Aircel’s newest product – priced at Rs 86 – greatly eases customers for staying connected to their loves ones after ‘Iftaar’, offering full talk time of Rs 86, local and STD calling at 30p/minute from 12 AM to 6 AM and comes with a validity of 12 days.

The pack also offers a significant discount on ISD calling with calls to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Saudi Arabia having been slashed to 16p/second and to Bangladesh at 4p/second.

The company has introduced the ‘Ramzaan Pack’ after a high usage pattern observed after ‘Iftaar’ in making local, STD and ISD calls, especially in the wee hours of the night when customers call their friends and family to wake them up or have a little chat.

Elaborating on the construct of the new product, Harish Sharma, regional business head – North, Aircel said, “The pious month of Ramzaan is a special occasion for our customers, when they like to stay seamlessly connected to their friends and family in India and abroad. We also experience high call volumes during the night hours in the month of Ramzaan and understand that many retail outlets may be shut during those hours, inconveniencing customers wanting to top-up their phone balance. Hence, it only seemed most logical to us to make night calling highly affordable during this time of the year, as we feel a sense of responsibility to ensure that our customers enjoy the most on this festive occasion.”

Aircel’s ‘Ramzaan Pack’ is available across India, including Jammu & Kashmir, Bihar & Jharkhand, UP (East), West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Mumbai, Assam, North East, Kerala and Rajasthan with the product’s benefits and validity slightly varying from one another.

Aircel constantly makes efforts to engage with its customers, while introducing innovative products and services. The company always believes in adding an element of ‘Extra’ in its products as a simple way of bringing joy and happiness to its customers.

16 Bn Connected Devices By 2021: Ericsson

Ericsson Mobility Report

16-Bn-Connected-Devices-By-2021:-EricssonBetween 2015 and 2021, 28 billion total devices will be connected by 2021 and of this close to 16 billion will be IoT devices says Ericsson.

The latest edition of the Ericsson Mobility Report, reveals that the Internet of Things (IoT) is set to overtake mobile phones as the largest category of connected device by 2018.

Western Europe will lead the way in adding IoT connections – the number of IoT devices in this market is projected to grow 400 percent by 2021. This will principally be driven by regulatory requirements, for example for intelligent utility meters, and a growing demand for connected cars including the EU e-call directive to be implemented in 2018.

Rima Qureshi, senior vice president & chief strategy officer, Ericsson said, “IoT is now accelerating as device costs fall and innovative applications emerge. From 2020, commercial deployment of 5G networks will provide additional capabilities that are critical for IoT, such as network slicing and the capacity to connect exponentially more devices than is possible today.”

Smartphone subscriptions continue to increase and are forecast to surpass those for basic phones in Q3 this year. By 2021, smartphone subscriptions will almost double from 3.4 billion to 6.3 billion.

Use of cellular data for smartphone video grew 127 percent in just 15 months (2014-15). Over a period of four years (2011-15) there has been a 50 percent drop in the time teens spend watching TV/video on a TV screen and in contrast an 85 percent increase in those viewing TV/video on a smartphone.

In 2016, a long anticipated milestone is being passed with commercial LTE networks supporting downlink peak data speeds of 1 Gbps. Devices that support 1 Gbps are expected in the second half of 2016, initially in markets such as Japan, US, South Korea and China, but rapidly spreading to other regions.

Mobile users will enjoy extremely fast time to content thanks to this enhanced technology, which will enable up to two thirds faster download speeds compared with the fastest technology available today.
