Matrix announces special plans for students

Matrix Cellular, which provides country specific SIM Indian’s traveling abroad, has announced international SIM Card prepaid packages for students travelling to the US and the UK for studies.

The new prepaid plans are available starting Rs 1999 for USA and the UK. The prepaid plans offer bundled benefits and freebies such as free incoming calls, free local calls, free calls to India, free data usage and free texts.

A copy of the student visa is a mandatory KYC requirement for buying these SIM cards.

Zyxel launches multi service Wireless router for service providers

Zyxel, has launched PMG2006-T20A Wireless router which is GPON HGU embedded with a 4-port GbE Switch enabling it to connect to peripherals such as IP cameras, Network Data Storage, computer servers and Wi-Fi access points to share data in high speeds.

The switch furnishes numerous integrated services via a single optical fiber to support existing deployments of triple-play services such as data, video/ HDTV, VoIP as well as interactive games.

The Zyxel PMG2006-T20A can be connected to the GPON OLT to offer network operators with management and provision features that support ONT Management and Control Interface (OMCI) and TR-069 management functions as well.

Exclusive to Ericsson is instant power sharing, used in the wideband Radio 2242.

This capability allows power to be instantly shared between carriers, standards and bands, optimizing the use of radio resources. The output power of the radio is shifted instantaneously to the band and standard where it is needed most.

Ericsson Dual Band Radio Dot

Ericsson Dual Band Radio Dot has been designed to provide a significant boost to indoor mobile broadband connectivity. Customised for the Indian market, this Dual Band Dot combines two frequency bands (1800 MHz and 2100 MHz) in one form factor thereby simplifying deployment, reducing the cabling cost and fully leveraging the available spectrum. IET Partners Saraswati Seva Foundation To Improve Education Among Underprivileged

The Institution of Engineering and Technology Services India (IET), one of the world’s largest multi-disciplinary professional societies of engineers and technicians, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Saraswati Seva Foundation, a non- profit organisation committed to serve the under-privileged communities using knowledge tools and networks to support a sustainable foundation of the society.

The agreement is designed to facilitate the exchange of the IET Faraday content as well as technical know-how from the IET to enable the Saraswati Seva Foundation to train and up-skill teachers in schools catering to under-privileged.

The IET Faraday India Programme aims to create an ecosystem which encourages curiosity, questioning of the status-quo among both students and teachers to fuel passion for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). The IET Faraday project intends to provide teaching resources along with teacher enrichment programs to the school teachers.

The program comprises of curriculum support, resources, information for schools and cross-curricular classroom activities. The teachers will be enabled with the add-on teaching resources and techniques which are relevant to the tech savvy students of today. The project is also intended to engage the school students in fun filled activity based learning, generating the love for STEM in the young minds.

The partnership with Saraswati Seva Foundation will allow all the school affiliated to the foundation to access the IET’s Faraday resources. It expands the foundation’s vision towards building technology-driven and scalable solutions for specific social needs which are environmentally sustainable and commercially viable.
