Moto E4 Plus to be available only on Flipkart from July 12

Moto E4 Plus is going to be available in India through Flipkart from 12th July noon. Motorola has announced this through their Twitter handle. Moto E4 Plus comes with a 5000 mAh battery, which is the highlight of this smartphone. This battery is supposed to last two days.

While the price of the phone has not yet been announced we expect it to be priced below Rs 12,000. Moto E4 which is currently available and gets smaller 2800mAH battery is selling for Rs 8,999.

Moto E4 Plus looks similar to the Moto G5 smartphones with the slightly curved back. The phone sports a metal uni-body design which lends it a premium feel. A very prominent round rear camera unit, antena lines running across top and bottom are some of the other design elements. The front home button has the fingerprint scanner embedded inside it.

Moto E4 Plus features a 5.5-inch HD resolution display (1080 x 720 pixels), Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 quad-core processor, 2GB RAM coupled with two storage options 16GB or 32GB. The rear camera is a 13Megapixel unit, while the front camera is 5MP. The Moto E4 Plus runs the latest Android Nougat 7.1.1. Motorla is also shiping a 10W rapid charger which becomes all the more important given the size of the battery which would have otherwise taken foreever to charge.

Motorola Moto E4 Plus is not water resistant however it does feature a water-repellent coating to protect your smartphone against splashes, etc. This 4G LTE device also features Bluetooth version 4.1 LE, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n, Accelerometer, Proximity, Ambient light, Magnetometer (e-compass) and Fingerprint reader.

Honor 8 Pro with 128GB storage launched, priced at Rs 29,999

Huawei’s sister brand Honor has launched Honor 8 Pro in India priced at Rs 29,999 to sold exclusively through The phone gets a comprehensive update to Honor 8 and gets dual camera setup just like its predecessor and features top of the line specifications, a premium glass and metal design and a huge battery.

While the exact release date has not been announced, company said that the phone would be available soon. The smartphone is available in two color options – midnight black and navy blue.

The phone gets a uni-body all metal design with matt finish and all glass finish in the front.  The sides are curved and the smartphone has a screen to body ratio of 79%. The smartphone is powered by Huawei’s own HiSilicon Kirin 960 processor clocked at 2.6GHz paired with 6GB of RAM and Mali G71 GPU, a 4,000mAh battery.

Flagship Kirin 960 SoC has also been used in Huawei P10 and Mate 9 and is claimed to offer 18% faster CPU and the GPU is 180 percent faster than the one found on the Honor 8.

The Honor 8 Pro comes with a 5.7-inch Quad HD display with a pixel density of 515 ppi, whopping 128GB of internal storage which can further be expanded by another 128GB using microSD card and a fingerprint sensor at the back.

The Honor 8 Pro runs on Huawei’s EMUI 5.1 running atop Android 7.0 Nougat and supports 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11 and GPS/A-GPS.

The smartphone gets dual camera setup at the rear – a primary 12MP RGB (color) sensor and a secondary 12MP monochrome (black and white) sensor with both having an aperture of f/2.2. The rear camera also comes with phase detection and laser autofocus and a dual-LED flash. The front camera on the other hand uses 8MP sensor with an aperture of f/2.0 and the ability to capture video in up to 1080p resolution.

In this dual camera setup the monochrome sensor captures a lot of data, which then is used to process images so that they have better details, especially in low light. Just like the OnePlus 5, the dual camera setup also allows you to take bokeh shots – images with depth of field effects. Monochrome unit can also be used in standalone mode to capture black and white images.

Lephone Launches Budget 4G Smartphone For Rs 3999


Chinese phone maker Lephone has launched a budget 4G smartphone in the Indian market. The phone, Lephone W2, with very basic smartphone features is priced at Rs 3,999. The device supports VoLTE too.

The Lephone W2 is a 4.5-inch size smartphone and comes in four color variants – Black, Golden, Rose gold and White + Gold.

Asus ZenFone 3 Zoom, Zenfone 3 Laser gets Android 7.1.1 Nougat update


Asus is rolling out Android 7.1.1 Nougat update for it’s 2016’s ZenFone 3 Laser, ZenFone Max and Zenfone 3 Zoom. These phone where launched in with Android 6.0 Marshmallow and were updated in April this year to Android 7.0.

Moto E4 to launch in India at Rs 8,500 soon

Motorola had announced the Moto E4 and E4 Plus for global markets a few weeks back. And now, according to a tweet by Mumbai-based retailer Mahesh Telecom (First reported by Gadgets360 ) the phone is expected to arrive in a couple of days at expected price of Rs 8,500.

The Lenovo-owned company is likely to introduce Moto E4 on ofline market while E4 Plus will be available online only. Smartphone boasts a 5-inch HD display 720 x 1080 pixels resolution and runs Android 7.1 Nougat out-of-the-box. Moto E4 is powered by a Quad-core Snapdragon 425 processor clocked at 1.4 GHz. It offers 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage.

In terms of Battery it features a 2,800 mAh unit. The rear camera is 8Megapixel auto-focus unit while front one boasts 5 megapixel resolution.

Compared to that, Moto E4 Plus features a bigger 5.5-inch HD display, 2GB RAM and 16GB/32GB storage options. The camera is also bigger at 13MP in the back and 5MP unit in the front. This version also packs a huge 5,000mAh battery. Rest of the specifications are same as Moto E4.

In terms of design both the phones carry similarities with Moto G5 series. Both Moto E4 and E4 Plus get fingerprint scanner embedded in home button.

Asus ZenFone AR with 8GB RAM coming to India soon!

Asus Zenfone AR, the first phone with 8GB RAM is coming to India, company made the announcment through its official twitter handle. The announcement comes close on the heels of OnePlus announcing another smartphone with 8GB RAM with OnePlus 5 which will be available in India from 22nd June.

The post says “We’re ready to change the way you see smartphones. The world’s first 8GB RAM phone is all set to land in India. #StayTuned”. No date has been revealed as yet though.

Asus ZenFone AR is only available in Taiwan and is going to be launched in multiple markets in the coming months, including North America and Malaysia.

The Asus ZenFone AR is designed for Augumented reality applications and supports Google Daydream VR and Tango. It offers a camera and sensor setup that provides motion tracking, depth perception, and area learning.

The Asus ZenFone AR features a fingerprint scanner at the front embedded in the home button. Smartphone sports a 5.7-inch QHD (1440×2560 pixels) Super AMOLED display, high-end Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, and vapour cooling system to avoid overheating.

Asus ZenFone AR’s camera sports a 23-megapixel Sony IMX318 module with TriTech+ autofocus system, dual-PDAF, second-gen Laser Focus, and continuous-focus. The rear camera gets 4-axis OIS (optical image stabilisation) as well as 3-axis EIS (electronic image stabilisation) for video recording alongside support for 4K video recording. 8-megapixel front-facing camera with an f/2.0 aperture is also there.

The Android 7.0 Nougat-based Asus ZenFone AR will include up to 256GB of inbuilt storage that’s expandable via microSD card (up to 128GB) in a hybrid dual-SIM (Micro+Nano) configuration; a 3300mAh battery; USB 2.0 Type-C port, as well as Bluetooth v4.2 and Wi-Fi 802.11ac connectivity.

OnePlus 5 With 8GB RAM Launched


Chinese smartphone brand OnePlus has launched its new flagship, the OnePlus 5, on Tuesday. While the sales will start on 27th June. Price for India has not been announced yet. However, America prices are Rs 31000 for 6GB RAM + 64GB Storage and Rs 36000 (approx) for 8 GB RAM and 128 GB Storage.

One Plus has a reputation of dishing out flagship killer phones and this one looks no different. The phone features Snapdragon 835 processor, 8GB RAM option, Dual Camera and Fast charging and many more.

Price and Availability
OnePlus 5 prices for India has not been announced and we will have to wait till Thursday when India launch happens to get that detail. Prices are however rumored to be Rs. 32,999 for the 6GB RAM + 64GB storage variant, while the model with 8GB RAM + 128GB storage is said to cost Rs. 37,999. The company will host the launch event in Mumbai on Thursday, followed by pop-up events – where fans can purchase the smartphone offline – in New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and Bengaluru the following two days. Amazon India has confirmed that sales of the smartphone will begin from 4:30pm IST on Thursday, June 22 itself.

OnePlus 5 camera
Camera seems to be one of the focus areas of this phone. It features dual camera at the back, that work together for fast focus and better depths. Company claims it to be the “highest resolution dual-camera system on a smartphone today”. Dual camera setup conssists of a 16-megapixel main camera (Sony IMX398 sensor, 1.12-micron pixels) with an f/1.7 aperture, said to capture 34 percent more light than the OnePlus 3T (which had an aperture of f/2.0), coupled with a 20-megapixel telephoto camera (Sony IMX350 sensor, 1-micron pixels) with an f/2.6 aperture.

Fast Autofocus on the phone is claimed to be 40 percent speedier than the OnePlus 3T. The rear camera setup boasts of dual-LED flash module and 4K video recording with EIS, optical zoom up to 2x, further bumped up to 8x using a multi-frame software algorithm.

You will also get Pro Mode, which allows you to play with ISO, shutter-speed, white balance, a histogram, gyroscope-based reference line, and RAW image editing. OnePlus also announced an improved HDR algorithm, and brought forward its Smart Capture feature for auto adjustments.

OnePlus 5 also sports a 16-megapixel front camera with a 1-micron pixel Sony IMX371 sensor, an f/2.0 aperture, and EIS. It can shoot full-HD (1080p) video. The front camera can also activate screen flash, with three modes to choose from – On, Off, and Auto. There’s also an Auto HDR mode.

OnePlus 5 Hardware
OnePlus has used Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC with octa-core processor clocked at 2.45GHz and Adreno 540 GPU offering up to 25 percent more graphical performance. Even the LPDDR4X RAM used in the phone is claimed to be 17 percent more power efficient than the previous LPDDR4 offering. Together with UFS 2.1 storage and a 2-lane ROM the phone is expected to be one hell of a performer. OnePlus 5 is only the second phone to offer 8GB RAM Asus ZenFone AR being the first. OnePlus is offering the smartphone in two memory and storage variants – 6GB RAM/ 64GB inbuilt storage and 8GB RAM/ 128GB inbuilt storage. The OnePlus 5 sports a slightly smaller 3300mAh battery compared to the OnePlus 3T’s 3400mAh offering, however, with “hardware and software optimisations” manages to deliver 20 percent more battery life than its predecessor.

OnePlus 5 Features
An interesting feature is what is being called App Priority, which learns the apps users utilise most commonly to load them on startup. Apps that aren’t commonly used are deprioritised. Company also claimed that it has addressed touch latency issues which plagued OnePlus 3 and 3T. The company carries forward the ceramic fingerprint sensor on the OnePlus 3T to the OnePlus 5, with the same boast of unlocking in 0.2 seconds. The company is also calling the OnePlus 5 a “true world phone”, with support for 34 GSM network bands. OxygenOS on the OnePlus 5 also gets some new features including Reading Mode, Expanded Screenshots, and a semi-transparent app drawer. With Reading mode company is claiming Kindle type reading experiance.

OnePlus 5 Design
The smartphone is built using anodised aluminium and resembles iPhone 7 Plus with slight difference being the shape of the Home Button. The company is calling it the slimmest OnePlus flagship ever at 7.25mm.

OnePlus 5 will be available in two colour variants – Midnight Black and Slate Grey. It retains the dual speakers as well as the 3.5mm audio jack on the bottom panel. Other features carried on from previous generations of OnePlus smartphones include hardware capacitive keys (with the option of onscreen navigation) and the Alert Slider.

The OnePlus 5 runs OxygenOS based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat. It is a dual-SIM dual-standby smartphone with support for Nano-SIM cards. It sports a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) Optic AMOLED display protected by 2.5D Gorilla Glass 5. In terms of connectivity phone offers 4G LTE (with VoLTE), dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v5.0, NFC, GPS/ A-GPS, and USB Type-C (v2.0). It weighs 153 grams.

Samsung launches Galaxy Tab S3 at Rs 47,990


Samsung has announced the India launch of its Galaxy Tab S3, priced at Rs 47,990 this tab comes with latest S Pen, Quad speakers tuned by AKG and HDR-ready display.

The device will be available in black and silver colours across retail stores, starting June 20.

“The powerful Galaxy Tab S3 is built with premium technology that offers a productive and versatile experience to consumers, designed for users at home, work or on the go,” Vishal Kaul, Director, Mobile Business, Samsung India, said in a statement.

The S Pen does not require any charging or pairing and boasts a fine 0.7mm tip.

Galaxy Tab 3S uses Samsung Flow biometric authentication to login and can wirelessly tether compatible devices to transfer documents from a mobile device to a tablet. The device is fast-charging capability and 6,000mAh battery which supports up to 12 hours of video playback.

With a 9.7-inch Super-AMOLED display and 6mm thin metal frame, the device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset with Quad Core 2.15GHz + 1.6GHz processor, 4GB RAM and has 32GB internal memory that is expandable up to 256GB. The device runs Android 7.0 Nougat.

The device is powered by the Vulkan API and GPU and also features Game Launcher with a ‘Do Not Disturb’ mode for uninterrupted gameplay.

The tablet houses a 13MP auto focus rear camera with flash and a 5MP front camera and supports Pogo keyboards that require no separate charging or pairing.
