You can’t just write off BlackBerry, the original smartphone maker. Though the Canadian firm has stopped making the devices, its partner TCL has launched a new smartphone at MWC 2017, named BlackBerry KEYone.
And the KEYone gets you what you loved most on a BlackBerry device – its physical keypad.
Specifications wise TCL has put what it takes to make that phone run optimally. It did not add too many features like the premium segment ones nor did it strip the KEYone do a basic, entry level smartphone.
The BlackBerry KEYone comes in scrathc resistant 4.5 inch display with 1680×1080 pixel resolution at 434 ppi. The device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor coupled with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage capacity. This, however, can be expanded upto 2 TB using micro SD cards.
The KEYone sports 12 megapixel camera as the primary one and the front camera is of 8 megapixels. The rear camera has got autofocus and dual LED flash. The phone runs on Android Nougat and carries 3505 mAh battery. It also supports Quick Charge 3.0.
Hey hang on. The BlackBerry KEYone comes with a physical keypad. One can also use the keypad as a track pad, means, the typical smartphone functions like swiping left or right can be done on the keypad. And interestingly, the KEYone comes with a fingerprint sensor, and it has intelligently integrated onto the space key.
The BlackBerry KEYone is priced at $549 and may come to India around second quarter of 2017.
